Walk for the Alzheimer's Society
After a very difficult and heartbreaking family experience of dementia earlier in 2025, fitter Darren and his family decided to help raise funds to help everyone living with dementia.
The Challenge – Trek for loved ones and bring help and hope to everyone living with dementia. Explore historic landscape dominated by the world-famous stone circle of Stonehenge.
Every pound raised helps to fund hours of face-to-face support for families facing complex challenges.
Stonehenge
The 26 mile route started north of Salisbury and went through the market town, past the magnificent 13th century cathedral which has the tallest spire in the UK. The route continued through woodlands, alongside the racecourse with a gentle ascent to give picturesque views across the city. Continuing to walk across farmland and gentle slope down takes you to a small village.
The 13 mile route went through a quiet woodland area where the magical views of the world famous Stonehenge were experienced.
Continuing to walk along the chalk ridges through the valley and rural farmland paths before the final sections which passed Old Sarum, raised by Iron Age people in about 400 BC, one of the most historically important sites in Southern England.

Darren has worked alongside Charles Grosvenor for over a decade and when he approached the board of directors and told them about his upcoming walk, they were only too happy to sponsor the team to help them on their way over the 13 mile mixed terrain walk.
On Saturday 10th May Darren and his family completed the historic walk and raised over £1,200.00 for this deserving charity. We would like to congratulate all of you for your hard work and dedication to this worthy cause.
