In selecting Charles Grosvenor for our loft conversion, we obtained three competitive quotes from specialist loft conversion contractors on a turnkey basis contract as well as three competitive quotes from general builders using a traditional design and specification. The general builders were much more expensive and would have been using various sub-contractors, along with having multiple deliveries and accessing the loft through the house, as well as extra costs for planning/building control approvals. Charles Grosvenor were not the most competitive although the quotes received were very close but we chose them from their on-line reviews and the discussions we with them about the work, the on-site process and access etc. Our loft conversion was reasonably straight forward being a Velux window installation along with creating two new rooms with an access staircase. Charles Grosvenor dealt with everything, design, planning and building control approvals and kept us informed of progress along the way. Once we had an agreed a start date, an access/platform was erected and then all of the materials were delivered at the same time and stored on the scaffold. Apart from accessing the loft through the existing hatch all materials were taken through the roof not the house. All of the team, admin, project management and trades were polite and professional, the on-site team cleared up every day and disruption to our daily lives was kept to a minimum. Workmanship was exceptional with very minor snagging on completion. The team were very helpful and worked with us on minor changes etc. We were told that the work would take three months and it went slightly over but only due to Christmas closure in between times. All in all, we were very impressed with the process and the finished works and would have no hesitation in recommending Charles Grosvenor. There is only one other thing to bear in mind is to have a large supply of sugar as every one of the team who came to site had I in either their tea or coffee!

Really Professional and Friendly Service. Had an existing loft conversion we wanted extending and split into two rooms. 'Charles Grosvenor Ltd converted the loft on our quite large 1970's house to create a new staircase and two bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms. Also, the work included the replacement of the existing CH boiler and tank. After the initial review by the surveyor, it appeared that the conversion was not going to be possible due to a combination of the complex existing roof structure and the logistics challenges of moving materials to a location from a roadside truck to the worksite without damaging our drive. Each of these challenges were overcome by Grosvenor's. The loft design was reworked several times up to and including during the installation. The materials supply issues were overcome by building a temporary large elevated platform on the front lawn which could be reached by a crane from the road. The existing driveway was given temporary protection by laying sheets of timber when heavy vehicles were needed to make drops. Throughout, great care was exhibited by all of the workmen who visited. Overall the time and cost was revised throughout the job to reflect agreed changes. There was a time overrun but largely due to additional requests from ourselves and third party work such as decorating. Throughout the job, we felt included in the decision making and were supported by the project manager. The impression we were left with was very positive and would therefore have no reservations in recommending them for even the most complex loft conversion.'

'We have had an outstanding experience with charles Grosvenor loft company. Their professionalism was evident from the start to finish. It has taken nearly two years from our first initial conversation and there have been times when I wanted it to happen so much sooner but I must say they are well worth the wait. (Back log partly due to Covid when we initially booked!) The carpenters, builders, and plasterers were not only skilled but also meticulous, ensuring a tidy cleanup every evening. The whole team in the background is wonderful, from my first conversation with Sarah I knew they understood exactly what I wanted. I have to compliment the whole team, Ken, Sarah, Maxine, Alan, Adrian, Hayley and I’ve loved my weekly visits from Bob to check up on all of the work. Our builders/carpenters Rich and Lee were great from the first day on site and ran everything past me first. We also struggled with a skip but yet again they worked around all of this. The actual build was so much quicker than anticipated as these guys work so hard considering we have had a large dormer with a half bonnet roof. Unfortunately we had a nearly 3 week wait for plastering but yet again well worth the wait as the finish is perfection. Eddy the plumber also super helpful and professional. I highly recommend their services for anyone seeking a seamless and top-notch loft transformation. I’ve already recommended them to two friends, I just wish they did other building work as it all runs so smoothly due to a fantastic team. Huge thanks to you all. "Charles Grosvenor recently completed our loft conversion. My roof space was tight and if I am honest I was worried about the overall head height. There really was no need to worry as the end result is perfect. The build started a little earlier tha planned which was perfect for us. The builders were very good. Clean, tidy, punctual, with great communication making sure I was happy at each step of the dormer installation. Nothing was too much hassle even when we wanted to change the layout a little. Just and second fixes for electric and plumbing went well. Again the guys are a credit to the Grosvenor team. This is the first time that I have ever had any kind of building work done, and could be quite daunting. The team made this really easy, stress free and problem free. I really hope that all building companies are like this! I would kost definitely recommend Charles Grosvenor to anyone thinking of a loft conversion.
