YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED BY OUR EXPERT TEAM

What is the cheapest way to convert A loft?

There are many factors to take into consideration when costing a loft conversion.  Prices can vary greatly depending on the size of the loft or the type of conversion. Additional features, such as ensuites, bespoke staircases and storage should also be considered.

A loft conversion can be an excellent way to add value and space to your home. However it can become expensive if you underestimate the costs involved and don’t budget effectively. This article will help you decide what is the best conversion for you. Our team will be there to support you through the process, providing the best possible advice and finish.

COST EFFECTIVE CHOICES FOR YOUR HOME

Cheapest Loft Conversion options

If you are on a budget, we’d suggest one of these options; our Part Build scheme, or VELUX roof light conversion.

Part-build is ideal if you have DIY skills and want a special project. This flexible option gives you control over the project, allowing you to tackle certain aspects yourself. This can lead to significant savings on labour costs. Plus, you have the reassurance or knowing all of the current building regulations have been followed.

A VELUX Loft Conversion is the most cost effective option if you would like our specialists to carry out all of the building work. The VELUX conversion involves adding roof windows to an existing attic space. We consider this to be the most affordable and least disruptive option.

In both cases the existing space is retained, but the floor will need to be reinforced. It will also need to provide at least 30 minutes of fire protection to a habitable room. There must also be an escape-sized window on the first floor.

MORE OPTIONS TO CONSIDER

Creating a loft conversion on a budget

When you are thinking about a budget loft conversion, it is important to explore all available options. Think creatively about how to maximise space and functionality. Ask yourself, ‘how will this room benefit me?’

The most common option is to convert your new space into a bedroom or two. This idea will significantly increase the value of your property. You can also maximise space by using multipurpose furniture or built-in storage.

Why not add an ensuite shower room or bathroom? Imagine relaxing in your bath staring at the stars through your new VELUX skylight!

You can also create a new living space. With more people homeworking today, adding a home office or child’s playroom can be done using clever design solutions such as fold-out desks, game terminals, or wall-mounted shelving. For those with teenagers, you can create a private space for them to hang out with friends. Or maybe you want a cosy reading nook to hide away in, making the most of the natural light? The choices are endless – and the choice is yours!
